SSDMC Foundation - Project Activities

Working to reduce disparities throughout Cook County South Suburban Communities

Existing and Strategic Projects

Focus groups are used to:  1) stimulate new ideas, 2) directly observe group members (and their reactions/emotions)as they relate to an issue, 3) measure dynamic attitudes and opinions (i.e. rigidity), 4) provoke spontaneity and candor and 5) obtain emotionally provocative responses.

Many programs have leveraged the SSDMC process to create innovative solutions.   SSDMC is open to all lessons learned while the programs unfold.

SSDMC Foundation seeks partnerships based on sound research and review of  other successful programs.

SSDMC Foundation supports existing and new programs in the target population while seeking positive outcomes for youth and families in Cook County South Suburban communities.

While concerned with community development issues, community mapping can be a powerful organizing, planning and advocacy tool. Through the process of creating and revising maps, communities are better equipped to proactively address their interests and concerns by recommending improvements in the local community.
